100% Remote (EST hours preferred)

SUMMARY
We are seeking a Senior MERN Stack Developer experienced in designing and building enterprise-grade web applications using MongoDB, Express, React, and NodeJS. This role will focus on full-stack development supporting customer-facing and internal platforms, with an emphasis on modern React front-end architecture and scalable NodeJS API services.
The ideal candidate has strong experience building production systems, optimizing performance, designing reusable UI components, and contributing to the architectural direction of MERN-based applications.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop full-stack applications using MongoDB, Express, React, and NodeJS.
• Build and enhance React components, hooks, state management patterns, and modular UI architecture.
• Design, implement, and support NodeJS APIs and microservices.
• Optimize application performance across front-end and backend.
• Work closely with UX, product, and backend engineering teams to deliver cohesive experiences.
• Implement unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and follow secure coding standards.
• Participate in architectural discussions and provide technical guidance to the team.
• Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to stability and monitoring.
• Mentor mid-level and junior developers.
REQUIRED TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE
• 5 years full-stack development using the MERN stack.
• Strong ReactJS experience including hooks, functional components, and state management.
• Deep experience building NodeJS/Express APIs and backend services.
• Strong experience with MongoDB including schema design and performance considerations.
• Familiarity with TypeScript, modern JavaScript, and front-end build tooling.
• Experience with component libraries or design systems.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-hosted environments.
• Understanding of security best practices and enterprise application standards.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Healthcare or insurance/payer domain experience.
• Experience with microservices architecture.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud environments (AWS/Azure).
• Familiarity with accessibility and responsive UI patterns.
• Experience working in Agile teams.
