Job Description:
Our client is looking for a Red Hat Systems Administrator with strong experience in managing and configuring CUPS (Common UNIX Printing System). Project goal is to enhance and optimize the printing functionalities within the Manhattan Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Transportation Management System (TMS) software. This initiative is a critical component of a major business transformation effort aimed at improving operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
This initiative involves the implementation of CUPS and Linux-based printing solutions across test and production environments. The process begins with planning, configuring, and thoroughly testing in a controlled test environment to ensure reliability. Once validated, the solution is transitioned into the production environment with minimal disruption, followed by final testing and rollout support. Comprehensive documentation and training are provided to equip IT and operations teams for ongoing management. Continuous support and maintenance services are also included to ensure long-term performance and stability of the printing infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Assessment report detailing current printing setup and identified issues.
- Implementation plan for integrating CUPS and Linux-based printing solutions in the test environment.
- Configured and optimized printing setup within the test environment.
- Testing and validation report for the test environment.
- Implementation plan for transitioning to the production environment.
- Configured and optimized printing setup within the production environment.
- Final validation and testing report for the production environment.
- Comprehensive documentation and training materials.
- Ongoing support and maintenance plan.
Required Skills:
- 3 years of experience in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) system administration.
- Hands-on expertise with CUPS printing systems in a Linux environment.
- Understanding of networking and system security fundamentals.
- Experience with cloud environments, preferably AWS (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, etc.).
- Red Hat certifications such as RHCSA or RHCE are highly desirable.
- Expertise in Manhattan WMS and TMS software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
