About the Role
A senior individual contributor role leading eDiscovery technology across the full Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM). This person will be the technical anchor of the team, providing hands-on expertise in RelativityOne, architecting defensible workflows, and guiding attorneys and case teams through complex, high-stakes matters. This role is the primary progression step toward a Senior eDiscovery Technology Manager position.
Key Responsibilities
Platform & Technology Expertise

• Serve as the primary hands-on expert for RelativityOne (administration, configuration, analytics, processing, productions, performance, and troubleshooting)
• Advise on metadata integrity, search methodology, privilege screening, and defensible workflow design
• Support secondary platforms as needed (Reveal, Everlaw, Nuix, Logikcull)
• Manage modern data sources: M365/Purview, Teams, Slack, Zoom, WhatsApp, Google Workspace, Salesforce, mobile, and cloud repositories
• Automate workflows using Relativity scripts, APIs, PowerShell, or Python
• Maintain security posture through access controls, audit trails, and secure data handling

• Lead consultations on defensible EDRM workflows, from identification and preservation through production
• Run matter kickoffs and search strategy consultations
• Design advanced analytics strategies (email threading, near-duplicate detection, clustering, TAR/CAL)
• Perform QC on processing, review sets, and productions with strong defensibility documentation

• Act as vendor liaison for cost-effective, quality service delivery
• Develop SOPs, workflow documentation, and training materials
• Deliver training to attorneys, paralegals, and internal teams
• Evaluate and incorporate emerging legal technologies

• Provide case teams with timely updates on workload and risk
• Support budget/SOW development as technical liaison with vendors
• Contribute to analytics, reporting, and KPI data collection
• Stay current on legal technology trends and regulatory expectations

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Legal Studies, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 7 years of hands-on eDiscovery experience, including 3 years at a major law firm (AmLaw 100 preferred) or enterprise legal department
• Advanced expertise in RelativityOne administration, analytics, processing, productions, and troubleshooting
• Experience with AI-assisted review (TAR/CAL) and advanced analytics
• Familiarity with additional platforms (Reveal, Everlaw, Nuix, Logikcull, etc.)
• Ability to automate workflows via scripts/APIs (PowerShell, Python, Relativity scripts)
• Strong grasp of FRCP, defensibility, chain-of-custody, and privacy/compliance frameworks
• Excellent communication skills; able to guide attorneys through high-pressure technical issues

• J.D. or advanced technical/legal degree
• Relativity certifications (RCA, plus R1 Pro, Analytics Specialist, or Expert-level)
• PMP or equivalent project management training
