Work Management Specialist I
Position Summary
The Work Management Specialist I supports the end-to-end execution of operational and maintenance work through planning, scheduling, coordination, and monitoring of activities across assigned facilities or service areas.
This position applies established work management processes to help ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The Work Management Specialist works under general guidance and collaborates closely with operations, maintenance, engineering, contractors, and field resources to support barrier-free work execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain work plans and schedules aligned with priorities, available skills, materials, and equipment.
- Create and support barrier-free job plans by verifying the availability of labor, materials, tools, permits, and required documentation.
- Coordinate daily and weekly work schedules and make adjustments based on emergent work or changing priorities.
- Track work order progress, identify barriers to execution, and escalate issues as needed.
- Serve as a point of coordination between field resources, supervisors, contractors, operations, maintenance, engineering, and support teams.
- Utilize work management systems to distribute work, schedule resources, and track execution.
- Support material, inventory, and equipment readiness activities.
- Ensure work is planned and executed in accordance with EHS standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in performance reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
Storm Restoration Support
- Prepare for and provide emergency restoration support, including dispatching, updating and completing work, calling emergency locates, reporting oil spills, pinging meters, and updating Estimated Time of Restoration (ETOR) information as needed.
- Support Distribution, Customer Experience & Services reliability programs and processes using appropriate work management applications.
- Maintain an acceptable level of availability during the normal work schedule as well as during emergency storm restoration events, including after-hours and weekend support as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience: 1–2 years of experience in work management, planning, scheduling, operations, maintenance, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of work management principles and systems.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional experience in work management, planning, scheduling, operations, maintenance, or related environments preferred.
