Job Overview

Construction Tool Service is looking for a dependable tool and equipment mechanic to join our team. This position can be full-time or part-time, depending on experience and availability.

We are looking for someone with strong mechanical ability and good working knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, and troubleshooting. Experience reading schematics is a big plus.

While our focus is on Core Rigs, Pullers, Tuggers, Small hydraulic crimpers and such, we recognize that experience from related fields such as automotive technology may be valuable due to similarities in tool usage, mechanical processes, and attention to detail. We encourage applicants with diverse mechanical backgrounds to apply.

Position Overview

The work is performed inside our shop, not out in the field. The right person should be able to diagnose, repair, and maintain contractor tools and equipment in a clean, organized, and professional manner.

Experience With The Following Is A Plus:

  • - Greenlee tools and benders
  • - Ridgid threading machines and pipe tools
  • - Hydraulic pumps, cylinders, and hoses
  • - Electrical troubleshooting
  • - Contractor tools and rental equipment
  • - Schematic reading

Job Responsibilities

  • - Repairing and diagnosing contractor tools to send out or repair in house
  • - Maintaining and rental equipment, demonstrating proper use if needed
  • - Troubleshooting hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical problems
  • - Testing repaired equipment before it goes back to the customer
  • - Keeping repair paperwork accurate and organized
  • - Working with the rental, repair, and warehouse teams as needed

Other benefits 7 paid holidays from the date of hire, 2 weeks of vacation after one year, with one week starting at six months, 2 weeks. one hour of paid leave for every 30 hours of work up to 40 hours in one year.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Diagnostic Troubleshooting: Utilizing mechanical aptitude to identify the root cause of tool failures, fluid leaks, or electrical faults in professional-grade tools.
  • Hydraulic & Mechanical Repair: Rebuilding hydraulic cylinders, replacing worn seals, and servicing heavy-duty pressing and crimping mechanisms.
  • Electrical System Servicing: Testing and repairing small machines and corded electrical tools, checking for continuity, and replacing motors, switches, or battery terminals mostly Ridgid, Greenlee and Diamond Products.
  • Calibration & Testing: Ensuring tools meet exact manufacturing tolerances by running operational tests and utilizing diagnostic gauges.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong Mechanical Aptitude: Deep understanding of gears, pumps, valves, and electrical schematics.
  • Heavy-Duty Experience: Familiarity with the rigorous demands of professional plumbing, electrical, and mechanical job site tools.
  • Manufacturer Compliance: Understanding of official repair policies, and how to properly handle factory warranties.
