We are seeking an accomplished Vice President / Director of Data Center Construction to oversee all major capital projects across the Mid‑Atlantic region (PA, NJ, DE, MD). This executive will serve as the owner’s representative on all construction initiatives and will be embedded full‑time within our client’s organization. This is a permanent leadership role with long‑term strategic impact.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience delivering large‑scale, technically complex construction projects—particularly hyperscale data centers, mission‑critical facilities, manufacturing plants, test labs, warehouses, and corporate office environments. Projects typically exceed $100M in value and require mastery of fast‑track schedules, integrated design, and high‑performance MEP systems.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership
- Oversee all phases of construction for new builds, expansions, and retrofits across multiple sites.
- Serve as the primary interface between the owner, design teams, contractors, and commissioning partners.
- Ensure alignment between project scope, budget, schedule, and long‑term operational requirements.
Project Management & Delivery
- Lead planning, design coordination, procurement, construction execution, and turnover.
- Manage general contractors, EPC partners, design‑build teams, and specialty trade contractors.
- Implement rigorous quality control, safety oversight, and risk mitigation strategies.
Technical Oversight
- Direct the build‑out of mission‑critical infrastructure including:
- High‑density electrical systems
- Redundant power distribution (UPS, switchgear, generators)
- Advanced cooling systems (CRAC/CRAH, liquid cooling, chilled water, economizers)
- Fire suppression and life‑safety systems
- Structural and envelope systems designed for high‑security, high‑reliability environments
Owner Representation
- Protect the owner’s interests across all contractual, financial, and technical dimensions.
- Provide executive‑level reporting, forecasting, and decision support.
