Job Purpose:
The Asphalt Laborer is responsible for performing various tasks to aid daily operations at a construction site.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Identify utility lines.
- Perform setup and cleanup tasks at job site.
- Operates skid loader to move material on job site.
- Direct traffic when necessary to ensure safety of pedestrians, motorists and work crew which requires standing in one place for long periods of time.
- Maintain a safe and clean job site by handling materials and storing them properly, picking up and removing all tools and equipment when not in use, and securing the job site daily.
- Shovel materials to and from construction areas.
- Operate a variety of hand and power tools.
- Remove and properly dispose of debris and waste materials.
- Travel to work on remote job sites as directed by management.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
- Maintains compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Education, Skills and/or Work Experience Requirement
- Must be able to concentrate on tasks for extended periods of time.
- The ability to understand and communicate information.
- Must have skid loader experience.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to do basic math.
- Prior experience is preferred.
