Assistant Project Manager
CM&B is looking for a driven Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support our project teams in delivering complex, high-quality commercial projects across the region. This role offers hands-on experience, meaningful responsibility, and the opportunity to learn from some of the most seasoned project leaders in the industry—including direct guidance from Senior Vice President/Operations Manager Steve Malenchini.

What You’ll Do
Project Operations
- Manage assigned tasks and responsibilities across multiple phases of construction.
- Work as a key member of CM&B’s project management team to ensure Operational Excellence.
- Support superintendents, field staff, coordinators, administration, and accounting as needed.
- Use Procore to manage project documentation—submittals, RFIs, drawings, samples, and supplier data.
- Understand project plans, specifications, and subcontractor scopes of work.
- Participate in site-specific pre-activity meetings and weekly project meetings.
- Track project progress, site protocols, design issues, scope changes, and overall project requirements.
- Assist with project close-out—including punch lists, as-builts, Owner’s manuals, and warranty follow-ups.
- Provide on-site support during critical construction phases when needed.
Estimating & Cost Management
- Learn core estimating methods and how subcontractor input informs project budgets.
- Prepare subcontracts and purchase orders, including scope development and supplier negotiations.
- Understand project cost structure, gross margin, and cash flow responsibilities.
- Assist with monthly cost meetings, forecasts, and invoice approvals.
- Draft project documents (Subcontracts, POs, Change Events, PCOs, PCCOs) in Procore.
Safety & Risk
- Understand OSHA standards and CM&B safety protocols.
- Assist the PE/PM and Superintendent with safety program implementation.
- Help identify and mitigate project risks.
Planning & Scheduling
- Work with the Project Manager to understand overall and short-interval project schedules.
- Support the Project Superintendent in pre-punch and punch list development to ensure a strong project closeout.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field
- OSHA 30 required (can be completed upon hire),
- valid driver’s license
