Job Summary:
Construct Plumbing Design is seeking a highly organized and experienced Procurement/Warehouse Specialist responsible for purchasing and coordinating all materials, equipment, and supplies for plumbing projects and ensuring the warehouse is stocked, organized, and job-ready. This role prevents project delays by managing lead times, accurate purchasing, inventory levels, and clean staging.
Success looks like: crews show up and everything they need is already there, labeled, and ready to go.
Key Responsibilities : Procurement/Warehouse Specialist
Procurement & Purchasing
- Source and purchase plumbing materials, fixtures, equipment, tools, and consumables.
- Create and manage POs with correct pricing, quantities, specs, ship-to locations, cost codes, and delivery dates.
- Track lead times and proactively flag risks to schedule.
- Maintain preferred vendor list, pricing agreements, and rebate programs.
- Request/evaluate quotes for major purchases and alternates.
- Handle backorders, substitutions, returns, damages, and warranty claims.
Warehouse & Inventory Management
- Keep the warehouse stocked, organized, clean, and clearly labeled at all times.
- Maintain accurate inventory counts for common materials; cycle counts weekly/monthly.
- Set and manage min/max levels for core stock items.
- Receive shipments, verify against POs, and store items in correct locations.
- Stage materials for upcoming jobs by phase (rough-in, top-out, trim).
- Coordinate material pickups/returns from jobsites; ensure credits are processed.
- Track high-value items (fixtures, specialty valves, pumps, etc.) and secure them properly.
- Work with field teams to reduce waste, missing parts, and emergency runs.
Project Support
- Coordinate with PM and Field Supervisors on material needs by schedule phase.
- Confirm specs/submittals before ordering to avoid mistakes.
- Build ordering schedules from takeoffs/estimates when provided.
- Send clear status updates to PMs and field leads.
Cost Control & Admin
- Ensure purchases align with budgets and job cost codes.
- Match invoices to POs; resolve discrepancies quickly.
- Maintain documentation for job costing and audits.
- Produce weekly procurement inventory/status report
