Job Summary:
Job Summary: The position of CI Leader is responsible for leading and supporting the Ravenswood Team in identification of CI projects with the greatest value, selection of the participants for CI projects, and coordination of CI training. This position is also responsible for supporting the management, facilitation, coordination, and execution of the site's CI initiatives. The CI Leader will support and coach Departmental Leadership Teams, Project Sponsors, Project Leaders and other Leaders in regard to their roles in CI.
Coordination across all projects is critical, including regular review meetings and reports to Management. The CI Leader is expected to support the CI Manager in development and execution of CI activities and implementation for the Ravenswood facility. The CI Leader supports major CI related projects affecting the whole facility (i.e. Plant-Wide) & can be expected to facilitate/lead projects in any area/department.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate assessments of manufacturing areas within Ravenswood to identify CI events that will yield the greatest improvement and value.
- Develop and deliver professional training applications, as required, to enable employees at all levels to engage and contribute in the CI process.
- Through CI initiatives, provide area management with the tools to highlight problems and address them with immediate corrective action with the intent of minimizing their impact and preventing recurrence.
- Coach management teams at Ravenswood to develop a continuous improvement culture, where CI is interwoven into the way we do business as opposed to being a specific program.
- Coach/facilitate/participate in plant shop floor teams to enable Constellium to continuously improve performance, leverage information centers for CI, create a visual workplace, and solve complex problems.
- Openly and effectively communicate about CI, build credibility through relationships, and provide leadership to the program.
- Help develop and implement the CI Roadmap for the plant (improvement teams, audits, communication). Help Lead improvement teams and facilitate others to lead their improvement teams.
- Alert in case of deviation (planning, results, etc.). Learn and take over methods and tools at first and subsequently deliver professional training and coaching to enable employees at all levels to engage and contribute to the waste elimination mentality.
- Contribute to the definition of standards, norms, and best practices for manufacturing management and performance measurement, promote and set them up. Play a key role in the local change management and the cultural transformation of the site.
- Participate in CI coordination events and share with counterparts in the CI community and organization. Identify and share best practices. Evaluate external best practices for local adoption & implementation.
