Commodity Manager Purchasing 50021 United States, Alabama, Muscle Shoals Remote Position: No September 30th, 2026 Internship: No Apprenticeship: No Job Summary: Leading subject matter expert for assigned commodities such as but not limited to MRO spare parts, maintenance, petro-chemical, packaging, and consumables. In addition, focused experienced on reducing warehouse inventory value. Responsibilities: Place a procurement mind set in front of the buying cycle Bring a competitive environment to the purchasing area Provide local input for global consolidation Performs Continental purchasing activities Maximize all opportunities nationally Manage and prioritize critical demands, verify scope and spec of project to keep plant operational. Prepare RFP/RFQ and lead projects from inception to execution following strategic sourcing methodology Issue purchase orders once requisition is issued by Project Manager, applying sense of urgency when critical equipment parts or services are required Streamline amount of existing purchase orders (c.a 3000 / year) and benefit from leverage spend and blanket orders as opposed to fire drill approach. Ensure strong cost control and governance with internal stakeholders Ensure leveraging maximization, best practices sharing and promote procurement influence and control process Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in related field Three to five (3-5 ) years’ experience in a manufacturing environment Solid working knowledge of SAP Loves the action, and practice it Influencing skills Project management mindset Ability to present business case and show cost reduction from previous state Team player About Constellium Muscle Shoals: Constellium Muscle Shoals is a major aluminum sheet supplier for the packaging and automotive markets. The plant has ~1,200 employees and more than 100 acres under room, including five casting units, hot and cold rolling mills, and a slitting and finishing center. Muscle Shoals produces aluminum sheet for use in all three components of beverage cans (body stock, coated end stock, tab stock) and has the capacity to produce over 1 billion pounds per year of finished aluminum coils. The plant also produces aluminum automotive coils to be processed at our CALP line in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Muscle Shoals’ world-class recycling center is able to recycle the equivalent of 20 billion aluminum cans per year.
