Responsibilities:
- Supports the strategic purchasing activities of others.
- Develops an understanding of the capabilities of existing supply base to facilitate the day-to-day management of commercial matters.
- Participates in cross-functional and continuous improvement activities.
- Data gathering, analysis, and report preparation as required.
- Execution of assigned purchasing projects.
- Prepare purchase orders for supplies and equipment.
- Daily purchasing and material expediting, when needed.
- Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
- Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, products or substitute materials.
- Review, evaluate, and approve specifications for issuing and awarding bids.
- Recognizes and initiates changes when business conditions warrant it.
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of current laws and regulations that affect the business environment.
- Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with internal and external customers.
- Respects plant and company ethical values and policies in dealing with suppliers and customers.
- Negotiates innovative solutions to deal with problems and opportunities.
- Entrepreneurial Passion.
- Self-driven and eager to improve relationships and processes.
- General understanding of plant equipment and operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred; Associates degree and/or Certification in Supply Chain Management considered.
- Requires 2 years of experience in purchasing area.
- Must be passionate toward implementing and enhancing the growth and development across all areas of responsibility.
- Absolute commitment to EHS.
- Commitment to best practices developed by Continuous Improvement.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills especially Excel required.
- SAP experience preferred, working knowledge of ERP systems required.
- Relates well to people at all levels of the organization
- Written communication is clear and concise
