- Originate and produce commercial mortgage loans within an assigned territory or market segment
- Build and maintain strong relationships with mortgage banking correspondents to position the company as a preferred lending partner
- Underwrite and structure commercial real estate loans, including financial analysis, pricing, and risk assessment
- Conduct site visits and market inspections to evaluate potential and existing investments
- Present loan opportunities to the Investment Management Committee for approval
- Partner with internal teams to support the loan closing process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
- Review loan documentation and property reports to ensure compliance with company standards
- Guide and mentor mortgage loan analysts throughout underwriting, approval, and post-closing processes
- Serve as a resource to loan closers and servicers to support ongoing portfolio performance

Qualifications:
What sets you up for success
- Bachelor's degree required (Real Estate concentration preferred; MBA a plus)
- 10 years of commercial real estate lending experience, preferably within the life insurance industry
- Proven ability to originate and close high-quality mortgage loans at consistent volume
- Strong understanding of underwriting, due diligence, and real estate investment evaluation
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships across the commercial real estate market
- Knowledge of legal, financial, and market considerations related to mortgage lending
- Experience working across U.S. real estate markets
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
