PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Under direct supervision, performs chemical, radioactive and environmental analyses to ensure compliance with regulations, plant procedures and safety requirements.

$40/hour (Trainee)
$44.40/hour (Techs)
$58.65/hour (Max Rate)
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Performs chemical analyses (evaluates, and makes recommendations) to ensure compliance with the plant water chemistry program.
- Performs chemical analyses for and operates the wastewater treatment system and performs environmental effluent monitoring to ensure compliance with the National Pollution Discharge Elimination Systems (NPDES) Permit.
- Operates, calibrates and maintains equipment used to perform chemical and radiochemical analyses.
- Maintains materials and supplies required for operation of the chemistry and radiochemistry laboratories.
- Performs and evaluates radiochemical analyses of plant systems and effluents and the samples required to support the radiation safety program.
- Assists in the training of chemistry personnel in chemical and radiochemical analyses.
- Performs special analytical services in support of operations, maintenance, safety, and other groups.
- Ensures compliance with cleanliness requirements.
- Conducts and evaluates special studies in areas of corrosion and corrosion control.
- Qualified as an ERO responder.
- Duties may require shift work.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of four years of experience in the fields of water treatment, radio- chemical analysis or chemical analysis or the equivalent combination of formal education/training and experience, including one year of nuclear power plant experience.
- Must pass the EEI Technicians Test.
- Meet the requirements of Company and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) psychological, drug, alcohol, and medical testing policies and/or regulations.
- Satisfactorily complete NGET Training.
- Satisfactorily complete radiation safety training (may include respirator qualifications), if required for job performance.
- Must be able to meet and maintain the requirements of unescorted access at a nuclear power plant.
