Responsibilities
- Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions incorporating evidence.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies to effectively manage urgent situations involving clients experiencing severe emotional distress or behavioral crises.
- Provide specialized support for populations with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), PTSD, chronic pain, addiction issues, grief, gender issues, and geriatrics.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop personalized treatment plans that include case management, medical documentation, patient care coordination, and social work services.
- Utilize telehealth platforms to extend mental health services remotely while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and data security.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation using CPT coding for billing purposes while adhering to medical terminology standards.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling or related field; licensure or certification as required by state law for clinical practice.
- Proven experience in behavioral health settings such as outpatient clinics or inpatient facilities with a focus on mental health counseling.
- Strong knowledge of psychotherapeutic modalities including psychotherapy techniques like motivational interviewing and crisis management.
- Familiarity with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems for diagnostic.
- Experience working with children, adolescents, individuals with disabilities—including autism—and diverse populations such as geriatrics or pediatrics.
- Skills in crisis management, behavior management strategies, patient assessment, and medical record keeping aligned with HIPAA standards.
- Proficiency in telehealth technology platforms combined with excellent communication skills for effective remote counseling sessions.
