Constellation Search Group is looking for a Materials Senior Buyer for a full-time direct hire position. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of raw material buying processes, ensuring uninterrupted supply chains. This individual will enhance materials planning, purchasing, shipping, and inventory control processes. Located in Fort Worth, TX, this role focuses on procurement and purchasing of metals and raw materials to maintain stock levels and meet production schedules.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize the ERP system to create and review POs to support customer and manufacturing requirements.
- Maintain delivery confirmation data within the ERP system.
- Coordinate with finance on surcharge allocations and customer billing.
- Communicate price and delivery changes to management efficiently.
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks, enhancing delivery timelines.
- Work closely with production planning to meet manufacturing needs.
- Analyze demand trends for effective procurement and production planning.
- Generate and maintain reports supporting production schedules.
- Travel domestically quarterly to liaise with suppliers.
- Assist in executing purchasing strategies to balance cost, quality, and delivery.
- Build strong supplier relationships to ensure a reliable supply chain.
- Prepare, process, and track POs, maintaining accuracy in pricing and delivery.
- Collaborate with Quality Control and Engineering to ensure materials meet specific requirements.
- Support price and contract negotiations to secure favorable terms.
- Present market reports on pricing trends, supplier performance, and material availability.
- Maintain purchasing records in compliance with company and industry standards.
- Act as a liaison between purchasing, production, and finance teams for smooth operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
- 5 years of strategic purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of metal materials.
- Proficient action orientation and organizational skills to manage multiple projects.
- Advanced skills in MS Office and Excel with ERP system experience.
- Strong collaborator and team player.
