Clinical Educator

The Clinical Educator is responsible for the oversight of the orientation and training process to ensure that content remains current and reflects industry evidence based best practices and prepares staff to achieve desired outcomes with patients served. Serves as an application expert ensuring optimal utilization of EMR functionality to support best practice. The position is also responsible for ensuring that staff development, training and all home care education activities reflect philosophy and standards of care.

 

Essential Job Responsibilities

1. Ensures that Orientation and Training content is relevant and up to date to reflect clinical best practices and regulatory compliance
2. Collaborates with Educators in all regions to ensure using most up to date materials, support development of new tools and processes as needed to meet the learning needs of the staff.
3. Maintains and assigns required training modules within Online Learning Management system (HealthStream) and tracks completion of assigned modules. Ensures current regulatory requirements and best practices, in collaboration with other regions.
4. Supports other regions remotely as appropriate/as assigned
5. Maintains current knowledge around updates to the EMR functionality and leverages system capabilities to support best practice documentation (programming opportunities to ensure required elements of care are documented consistently)
6. Instructs clinical staff in visit processes on all points of care including related documentation skills and processes.
7. Onboarding scope includes general agency orientation for all staff, clinical onboarding of clinicians, oversight of agency required HH Aide education requirements.
8. Performs both in office and field training to include clinical competency assessments on Best Practices in terms of direct care and documentation.
9. Provides assessment of new hire performance at 30, 60 and prior to 90-day time period, recommends extension of onboarding as appropriate with specificity as to tasks outstanding to meet standard.
10. Meets weekly with Preceptor and Human Resources re: progress of all new hires.
11. Provides initial computer instruction and ongoing user groups for company computer clinical documentation systems.
12. Participates in quarterly reviews and audits
13. Provides appropriate counseling, instruction additional training as needed for staff
14. Facilitates collaboration with the interdisciplinary health care team in achieving desired outcomes.
15. Ensures that information regarding performance improvement and staff development activities is given to supervisors’ members in a timely manner.
16. Will perform other duties as assigned and directed.

Licensed clinician (RN, PT, OT, ST, MSW). The employee has the required licensure, education, training, and qualifications required by rule, regulation, law and/or statute to qualify for the role in their state.  Minimum of 2 years of full-time home care experience required 3-5 years preferred. Previous supervisory preferred. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. Demonstrated computer knowledge and expertise. Knowledge of rules and regulations of participation in a Medicare certified home health agency preferred.

Salary : $100,000 - $115,000
