Duties
- Operate dump trucks, tractor-trailers, roll-off trucks, and other heavy-duty vehicles with manual transmission to transport construction materials, freight, or waste
- Load and unload cargo efficiently using forklifts or other equipment when necessary
- Drive route-specific trucks including flatbed, refrigerated trailers, tanker, or specialized vehicles to meet delivery schedules
- Safely navigate route driving conditions across urban and rural areas while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations
- Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with company policies and legal standards
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate freight movement and optimize load capacity for maximum efficiency
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for dump trucks, tractor-trailers, or specialized vehicles
- Proven experience in truck driving, including delivery driver experience with freight or construction materials
- Proficiency in manual transmission operation and familiarity with various truck types such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and roll-off trucks
- Ability to load & unload cargo safely using forklifts or manual methods when required
- Strong knowledge of route driving practices and safety protocols for commercial trucking
- Physical stamina to handle long hours on the road and perform vehicle inspections or cargo handling tasks
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate deliveries and report issues promptly
