Summary:  

We are currently seeking an Industrial Painter for our Bessemer, AL yard location.  This position will be responsible for applying paint to various products with brushes, rollers, and spray guns. 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Demonstrates understanding and full performance ability in each of the following.

• Demonstrates a working knowledge of all tools of trade for industrial painting.


• Exceptional ability to accomplish the full range of painting techniques and procedures for performing job duties. 


• Ability to prepare surfaces by using sandpaper, scrapers, and sanding machines.


• Demonstrates ability to work as a team. 


• Must maintain a safe and organized workspace.


• Must ensure tools are maintained, clean, and organized.


• Performs all other duties as required or assigned.


• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience as an industrial painter or a similar position

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

• Knowledge of the practices, methods, tools, materials, and equipment used in industrial painting.


• Knowledge of painting techniques, paints, and other materials used.


• Knowledgeable methods of preparing surfaces for painting or other finishing.


• Must be able to read and interpret drawings, specifications, operational manuals, and equipment service manuals.


• Ability to interpret and work from sketches, rough layouts, standard drawings, and specifications required.


• Knowledge of the necessary safety precautions.


• Ability to understand oral and written instructions in English.


• Ability to demonstrate critical thinking, time management, decision-making/problem-solving skills.


• Anticipates problems and takes action to prevent or correct repairs.


• Ability to be supervised/unsupervised and work cooperatively with co-workers.


• Ability to use and care for general maintenance tools and equipment.


• Demonstrates an ability to meet deadlines with proven results.


• Basic computer skills preferred.
