We are looking for a Ductile Iron Fabrication and Production Threader Operator to join our team in Bessemer/McCalla, AL! This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a growing operation, have a direct impact on product quality, and advance your career. Key Responsibilities
- Follow OSHA and Company safety requirements
- Making and delivering a quality product that meets customer requirements by measuring, cutting, threading, and flange assembly of ductile iron pipe
- Testing pipe assemblies for leaks
- Troubleshooting issues with fabrications and equipment
Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies
- A minimum of 3 years of experience fabricating ductile iron pipe is preferred
- Knowledge of fabrication machinery and equipment is preferred
- Welding knowledge and experience is a plus
- Knowledge and use of measuring devices, materials, equipment, and tools used in pipe fabrication
- Ability to read and understand safety procedures, technical drawings, interpret drawings, schematics, production orders, standards, procedures, and ensure each order and project are completed correctly
- A strong work ethic, a strong desire to learn, and commitment to customers, the team, and Company
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Good communication skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Must be able to pass a drug screening
- The ideal candidate should be self-motivated and a team leader. Must be able to carry out and comply with Company policies and safety procedures
- Attention to detail and a strong desire to serve the customer by producing quality products that meet all specified requirements, including on-time delivery.
