Operations Coordinator – Residential Division
The Operations Coordinator is a full-time employee of Consolidated Electrical Contractors (“CEC” or the “Company”) responsible for supporting the day-to-day administrative and operational needs of the Residential Division.
Employment with CEC is at-will, meaning either the employee or the Company may terminate employment at any time, with or without notice, and with or without cause.
Reporting Structure
This position reports to Residential Division leadership and provides support to Project Managers, Crew Leaders, field employees, and other CEC departments.
Position Summary
The Residential Operations Coordinator helps keep a high volume of residential projects organized and moving through the construction process. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate project information, coordinating permits and inspections, supporting billing and purchasing, updating schedules and company systems, and assisting with project closeout.
This is primarily an office-based administrative position. Electrical field experience or an electrical license is not required.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Administrative Support
- Set up new projects and maintain accurate job information, schedules, purchase orders, plans, and project documentation.
- Maintain Buildertrend, Foundation, builder portals, and other company systems.
- Support Project Managers and Crew Leaders with day-to-day project and administrative needs.
- Maintain organized project records and complete administrative closeout of finished projects.
Permits & Inspections
- Apply for, track, and close permits with local jurisdictions.
- Schedule inspections and re-inspections and communicate results or corrections to the appropriate team members.
- Coordinate with inspectors and jurisdictions to resolve outstanding permit and inspection items.
Billing & Financial Support
- Process residential AP and AR documentation in coordination with CEC’s Accounting Department.
- Process VPOs, backcharges, billings, waivers, deposits, purchase orders, and related documentation.
- Review AR aging and assist with collection follow-up.
- Maintain inventory cost information and prepare residential job profitability and operational reports.
Builder & Team Coordination
- Communicate with builders, Project Managers, Crew Leaders, inspectors, customers, and internal departments as needed.
- Maintain accurate information within builder portals and company systems.
- Track and report outstanding items including VPOs, backcharges, failed inspections, and follow-ups.
- Participate in Residential Division and builder meetings as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Prior administrative, accounting, construction, or project coordination experience preferred, but not required.
- Strong computer and data-entry skills with a high level of accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage a high volume of projects and deadlines.
- Comfortable learning and working within multiple software systems and online portals.
- Experience with Buildertrend, Foundation, Microsoft Excel, or similar software is a plus.
- Clear and professional communication skills.
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to consistently follow through on responsibilities.

This is a full-time position based out of CEC’s Lansing office. Compensation will be based on experience, skills, and qualifications.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
