What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commercial Senior Accountant position at Consolidated Credit?
This an in-office position.
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to work closely with our Controller to help manage our real estate portfolio.
The Senior Accountant position is located in our corporate office in Plantation, FL.
Duties
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory requirements, ensuring clarity and accuracy
- Manage general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliation, and month-end closing processes
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing and compliance with company policies
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and bank reconciliations regularly to maintain data integrity
- Perform financial analysis and cash flow analysis to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
- securities law compliance, governmental accounting standards, and non-profit accounting practices
- Mentor junior accountants by providing guidance on accounting software (such as PeopleSoft, Sage, Xero), double-entry bookkeeping, and best practices in financial report writing
- Assist with regulatory reporting requirements and ensure accurate tax filings based on tax experience
- Contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives by leveraging expertise in financial concepts like accrual accounting, account analysis, budgeting, and forecasting
Senior Accountant Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
- 5-10 year’s accounting experience
- CPA required preferred (or in the process)
- Great Plains a plus, if not similar accounting package
- Yardi real estate software experience required
- Excellent PC skills including Intermediate Excel skills
- Budgeting and forecasting experience
- Must have excellent communications skills to interact with multiple levels of staff and management
- Must have ability to multi-task and handle high volume of varied responsibilities, accurately and professionally
- Must be very accurate and detail oriented
