Join our team for a hands-on internship focused on electrical systems and power distribution within a large-scale power generation facility. This role is ideal for students pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering who want real-world experience in plant operations, maintenance, and reliability projects.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Systems Support
- Assist with inspections and preventive maintenance of electrical equipment, including motors, transformers, and switchgear.
- Support troubleshooting of electrical circuits and power distribution systems.
- Participate in breaker testing, cable terminations, and insulation resistance checks.
Project & Documentation
- Update electrical drawings and schematics; maintain technical documentation.
- Assist with compliance reporting and equipment performance tracking.
Safety & Compliance
- Learn and apply OSHA and NFPA safety standards in all tasks.
- Participate in lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures during maintenance activities.
Work Environment
This position combines office and plant-based tasks. Interns must be able to wear PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, respirator, fall protection harness) and work around rotating equipment, hazardous materials, and chemicals. Occasional work outside normal business hours may be required during outages or emergent situations. Remote work is not available.
Housing
Housing will be provided for students who do not live in the area.
