The Lincoln Generating Facility is a 656-692 MW natural gas-fired "peaker" plant in Manhattan, Illinois, operated by Earthrise Energy. The Combustion Turbine Technician is a highly skilled technical role responsible for the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of aero-derivative combustion turbine equipment. This position requires advanced knowledge of gas turbine systems, controls, instrumentation, and balance of plant equipment gained through technical training and hands-on experience. Technicians support safe, reliable plant performance while collaborating in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain combustion turbine equipment to ensure optimal unit efficiency, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
- Perform testing, calibration, programming, and troubleshooting of electrical, instrumentation, and control systems using schematics, vendor documentation, and diagnostic tools.
- Maintain accurate work history records, maintenance logs, and technical documentation.
- Evaluate equipment condition and recommend improvements that enhance reliability, safety, or cost effectiveness.
- Participate in developing and updating standard operating procedures and preventive maintenance plans.
- Provide technical training and guidance to other technicians as needed.
- Support scheduled and unscheduled outage activities and respond to call-outs as required.
- Contribute to plant safety programs and ensure adherence to environmental and compliance standards.
