Strategic Communications Associate

Consensus Media
Washington, DC Full Time
POSTED ON 7/2/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 12/28/2026

Company Description

At Consensus, we are creative consultants and strategic storytellers who live at the intersection of message and moment. Our partners work on everything from climate to counter-extremism. Our job? Help cut through noise and shape culture. We pair research, critical thinking, and sharp writing to develop and execute creative campaigns. We believe in bespoke solutions, human-centered narratives, and building a better future—one project at a time.

Role Description

We are hiring a smart, driven, and intellectually curious team member to help us decode the chaos and build strategic narratives that matter. This is a hybrid role based at our office in Washington D.C., with a strong emphasis on research and team support, paired with real-world communications execution. You’ll dive deep into policy topics, information integrity, emerging technologies, and the shifting dynamics of public policy and cultural power—and help translate those insights into compelling communications, briefs, events, and campaigns.

We don’t do traditional job descriptions because we’re not a traditional company. But if you're the kind of person who reads the news, questions everything, and figures stuff out faster than anyone else in the room—keep reading.

  • Support long-form writing projects with contributing multiple pieces weekly across key initiatives
  • Support multimedia content or podcast prep

  • Manage drafts of presentations and help prepare materials for stakeholder meetings

Who You Are

  • A sharp writer and clear thinker who thrives in fast-paced, ambiguity-filled environments
  • Insatiably curious about politics, economics, sustainability, and how narratives shape power

  • Confident working directly with senior leaders and external stakeholders
