Hourly Rate: $5.00/ tips
Position Summary: The Busser ensures that tables are clean, set, and ready for guests in a timely manner, supporting servers and maintaining a smooth dining experience. This role involves clearing and resetting tables, assisting with food and drink service, and upholding the cleanliness and organization of the dining area.
Key Responsibilities:
Table Maintenance:
- Clear dirty dishes, glassware, and utensils from tables promptly and efficiently.
- Wipe down and sanitize tables, chairs, and other surfaces after each use.
- Set tables with clean utensils, glassware, napkins, and condiments as needed.
Support for Servers:
- Assist servers with food and drink delivery, ensuring that orders are accurate and delivered promptly.
- Refill water glasses, bring extra utensils or napkins, and address other guest needs as requested by the server.
Dining Area Cleanliness:
- Maintain a clean and organized dining area, including sweeping and mopping floors as needed.
- Remove trash and recyclables from the dining area and dispose of them properly.
Communication and Teamwork:
- Work closely with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure efficient service and address any issues that arise.
- Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks and prioritize duties.
Guest Interaction:
- Greet guests warmly and assist with seating arrangements if needed.
- Respond to guest inquiries or concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
Health and Safety:
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and standards, including proper food handling and sanitation procedures.
- Report any safety hazards or maintenance issues to management immediately.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a food service or customer service role is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift heavy items throughout the shift.
- Basic understanding of food safety practices.
Other Requirements:
- Must be at least 16 years old.
Working Conditions:
- Fast-paced restaurant environment with varying levels of noise and activity.
- Requires standing and walking for extended periods, as well as occasional lifting and carrying of items up to 50 pounds.
- May involve working evenings, weekends, and holidays.
