Conrad Driving Academy (CDA) is based out of Circleville, OH. We cover a large area: Pickaway, Hocking, Ross, and Fairfield counties. We provide driving instruction to those under the age of 21. We are seeking driving instructors who feel confident in their ability to provide safe driving lessons. Paid training available!

Requirements:

• Pass an FBI/BCI background check
• Have 2 points or fewer on their driver's license over the last 3 years
• Have no history of license suspension
• Have held a valid driver’s license for 5 years
• Possess strong, safe driving skills

As a driving instructor, you are responsible for providing comprehensive driver education to those under the age of 21. The role requires patience, adaptability, and strong communication skills to ensure students gain the confidence and skills necessary for safe and responsible driving. Instructors may get in the car with a student who has never driven before. While all students are encouraged to practice driving before enrolling in driver’s ed, CDA instructors must be prepared to handle students who have little to no driving experience.

This position is highly flexible. You decide when you want to work. Shifts are in 2 hour increments. Work as little or as much as you want.

Instructor Responsibilities:

• Conduct behind-the-wheel instruction following Ohio Traffic Safety Office guidelines, and Conrad Driving Academy standards and curriculum.
• Provide effective, structured, and supportive driving instruction
• Adapt teaching methods as needed for each individual student
• Evaluate student performance and provide clear, constructive feedback.
• Maintain timely and accurate records of student attendance, progress, and lesson results.
• Identify areas of improvement and adjust lesson plans as needed to ensure comprehension and skill development.
• Ensure all driving lessons adhere to state laws, regulations, and policies.
• Monitor student behavior and anxiety level and intervene as necessary to maintain safety during lessons.
• Keep training vehicles clean, well-maintained, and equipped with necessary items and safety features.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and guardians regarding lesson progress and areas for improvement.
• Offer reassurance and strategies to help students manage anxiety and build skills and appropriate confidence behind the wheel.
• Collaborate with office staff and other instructors to ensure consistency in instruction and scheduling.
• Stay up to date with changes in traffic laws, best practices in driver education, and teaching strategies for neurotypical and neurodiverse students.
• Attend required meetings, training, certifications, community events, and continuing education as needed.
• Experience teaching, coaching, training, or mentoring
• Knowledge of traffic laws, or willingness to learn
• Passion for student success
• Excellent communication with students and parents
• Experience working with diverse learners

Pay: $17.50 - $20.00 per hour
