Senior Civil Engineer — Site/Civil Land Development (PE)

A multi-office civil engineering & environmental consulting firm is expanding its San Antonio land development practice and hiring a Senior Project Manager (PE) to lead complex site/civil projects from early feasibility through permitting and construction documents. This is a client-facing leadership role with real influence on project delivery, team development, and local growth strategy.
You’ll work across a diverse set of project types—commercial, mixed-use, education, healthcare, industrial/distribution, and more—while mentoring staff and partnering with office leadership to drive performance and profitability.
What you’ll lead
- Manage the full lifecycle of land development/site civil projects: planning, design, permitting, approvals, and CD delivery
- Own client communication and coordination; represent the team with agencies and key stakeholders
- Oversee technical design deliverables: site layout, grading, drainage, utilities/infrastructure, erosion & sediment control
- Drive project controls: scope, fee, schedule, staffing, utilization, and minimize write-offs through proactive management
- Develop and expand client relationships; identify and win new work
- Produce and review technical documents (feasibility studies, stormwater reports, specifications, utility reports)
- Provide oversight on H&H (hydrology/hydraulics), stormwater management, SWPPP, and water quality compliance
- Coach, mentor, and develop engineers; lead multi-discipline collaboration
What they’re looking for
- BS in Civil Engineering
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license
- 6 years of site/civil land development experience
- Strong knowledge of local land use and permitting processes (city/county/state)
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects while controlling budgets and schedules
- Proven client development and account management capability
- Strong writing and proposal skills
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D (Civil 3D preferred)
- Comfortable working across disciplines and with regulatory agencies
- Valid driver’s license and ability to attend client meetings/site visits as needed
