This opportunity is built for an experienced Mechanical Construction Administrator who understands how mechanical systems are installed, reviewed, and verified throughout the construction phase. The hiring firm is an established consulting engineering practice with decades of work across healthcare, commercial, education, and government facilities. They are seeking a construction administration professional with strong mechanical construction knowledge and familiarity with MEP coordination, field verification, and contractor oversight.
The ideal candidate brings at least five years of experience in mechanical construction, mechanical maintenance, facility operations, or field service work related to mechanical building systems. Experience with MEP construction practices is valuable. Candidates must be able to demonstrate past involvement in mechanical system installation or oversight.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform mechanical construction jobsite observations and field walks to verify that installed mechanical systems comply with construction documents, specifications, and industry standards
• Document findings and prepare detailed observation reports for mechanical construction progress and code compliance
• Review contractor submittals and shop drawings for mechanical system components
• Collaborate with firm Principals, Project Managers, and Senior Engineers during construction phases
• Support engineering staff with mechanical constructability reviews and field related questions
• Communicate concerns or discrepancies clearly to contractors and project stakeholders
Qualifications
• Strong mechanical construction background with understanding of mechanical building systems, HVAC installations, and typical MEP coordination
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills related to mechanical construction and field documentation
• High attention to detail during mechanical system observations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience with Revit or AutoCAD is a plus
• Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, professional attitude
• Valid driver’s license, suitable driving record, reliable transportation, and active automobile insurance
Salary : $85,000 - $115,000
