The Opportunity:


The Logistics Manager will be responsible for logistics, network planning, and supply chain management within the regional operating center. The Logistics Manager is a key member of the regional operations senior management team and will directly supervise a team of logistics planners and dispatchers. This Logistics Manager is responsible for implementation of continuous improvement (CI) management system for logistics processes, tools, and standards to make Parkland a best in class logistics organization. The Logistics Manager is responsible for negotiating and managing 3rd party hauling contracts, performance reviews, and service level reviews.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive a safe operations culture within the area of logistics
  • Drive effective management of day to day operations related to bulk product delivery within the region, including a keen focus on improving operating KPI's
  • Lead team of logistics planners and dispatchers to maximize productivity and enhance customer service across the entire supply chain
  • Implement best practices and standards pertaining to distribution and service logistics (primary, secondary delivery, supply, terminals, and network design)
  • Measure and influence decisions to effectively utilize people and trucking assets; balancing costs with service level
  • Leverage technology to maximize productivity, improve service levels, and deliver upon the business driven KPI's
  • Fully utilize technology and management systems to drive process improvements across the entire supply chain
  • Accountable for standing up the NFN 3rd party hauling network
  • As leader of logistics; provide direct reports with training, resources, processes, and tools required to be effective in their roles
  • Effective utilization of truck technology and logistics optimization tools and processes
  • Develop a long term strategic blueprint for logistics, supply chain, and network design that meshes with corporate strategy map

Education:

  • B. Com or equivalent combination of experience and education

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in logistics management
  • Previous leadership experience and comfortable implementing change
  • Proven track record in implementing routing and service technologies
  • Very strong analytically. Ability to make data-driven decisions
  • Strong communication skills written and verbal
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally with the business
  • Ability to travel
