School Treasurer - 11.5-month position
JOB SUMMARY
To handle all financial aspects of the school and to assist the Principal in other duties as necessary.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Necessary to Performance of Essential Functions
- An AA degree is preferred.
- Basic computer skills and ability to use general office machines such as copiers, calculators, computers, etc.
- Two years of bookkeeping/accounting experience preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively and help others.
- Successful work background.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Maintains accurate financial records of all individual school accounts in compliance with applicable laws and school board policies.
- Enters payroll information daily for school staff.
- Prepares monthly payroll reports for submission to the central office.
- Prepares requisitions, obtains approval from the principal, and sends them to the purchasing agent.
- Maintains and records all employee leave information for payroll.
- Meets payroll deadlines and schedules as set by the Finance Department.
- Reconciles monthly school office fund reports.
- Prepares checks and processes for mailing.
- Prepares sales tax reports and financial reports.
- Responsible for the collection and receipt of all teacher funds collected from students.
- Maintain a record of receipt book assignments.
- Maintains school checking accounts and makes bank deposits.
- Monitors all budget balances and ensures that funds are spent by deadlines.
- Verify accuracy on all orders received.
- Maintains confidentiality in matters relating to the school.
- Manages TRA School Funds Software and/or LINQ software for the school.
- Answer telephone, take messages, and/or direct calls to appropriate personnel.
- Greet visitors, parents, and students who come to the school.
- All clerical duties as assigned by the principal.
