Retail Cashier/Sales Associate

Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and motivated Retail Sales Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service, assist customers with product selection, and maintain a clean and organized sales floor. This role offers an opportunity to develop sales skills and gain valuable experience in a dynamic retail environment. Bilingual abilities and previous retail experience are a plus, but not required. The position involves working in a fast-paced grocery store setting, ensuring customers have a positive shopping experience from start to finish.

Duties

• Greet customers warmly and assist them with product inquiries and selections
• Operate POS systems efficiently for sales transactions, including cash handling and cashiering duties
• Conduct product demos to educate customers about features and benefits of items
• Upsell products to maximize sales opportunities while maintaining customer satisfaction
• Restock shelves, merchandise displays, and organize products for optimal presentation
• Perform stockings and inventory checks to ensure product availability
• Maintain proper phone etiquette when assisting customers via phone or online inquiries
• Assist with merchandising efforts to create attractive displays that promote sales
• Support supervising staff with training new team members and overseeing daily operations as needed

Qualifications

• Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environment preferred
• Strong communication skills, including active listening and clear verbal interaction
• Basic math skills for handling transactions, retail math, and cash handling procedures
• Knowledge of POS systems and cashiering operations is desirable
• Ability to perform merchandising, stocking, and product demos effectively
• Customer service-oriented mindset with a friendly attitude and professional phone etiquette
• Bilingual skills are a plus for serving diverse customer needs
• Supervising experience is advantageous for leadership opportunities within the team
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and organization
