Job Title: Medical Nursing RN
Job Summary
The Medical Nursing RN provides high-quality, patient-centered care to young adult, adult, and elderly patients. Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care while ensuring safety, comfort, and optimal patient outcomes.
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Duties
- Perform comprehensive assessments and ongoing reassessments.
- Provide cardiac monitoring and interventions.
- Administer sedation and pain management.
- Manage chest tube care/insertion.
- Administer medications safely and accurately.
- Provide pre- and post-cardiac catheterization care.
- Manage TPN/PPN therapies.
- Perform KODA procedures.
- Access and manage central lines.
- Ensure COBRA compliance.
- Manage specialized IV drips and titration.
- Perform IV therapy, IVADD, waived testing, and transfusion therapy.
- Maintain accurate information and documentation systems.
Patient Care & Safety
- Deliver age-specific, individualized nursing care.
- Maintain thorough documentation of histories, treatments, responses, and patient changes.
- Advocate for patients while respecting dignity, confidentiality, and cultural needs.
- Develop and update plans of care with patient and family involvement.
- Provide patient and family education based on identified learning needs.
Teamwork & Collaboration
- Supervise and allocate tasks to other healthcare staff.
- Assist physicians with department procedures.
- Adapt quickly to workload changes to maintain productivity.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives.
- Serve as a preceptor for new staff members.
- Function as a team leader and role model.
Operations & Compliance
- Ensure proper operation and maintenance of patient care equipment.
- Maintain adequate supplies and support cost containment.
- Perform housekeeping or patient transport duties when needed.
- Comply with infection control, safety, dress code, and hospital policies.
- Stay current with professional education, training, and departmental competencies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education & Certifications
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s preferred.
- Active RN License required.
- CPR, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and EKG certifications required.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: Up to $55.00 per hour
