Position Summary
Work internally with the Account Managers & Account Executives, the Marketing Analyst supports the day-to-day processes for RFPs and renewals, gathering quotes, and creating detailed benefit comparison spreadsheets, while building and maintaining effective, personalized, working relationships with the other members of the benefits team. This role is highly analytical, and detail driven.
Essential Functions
- Manage the marketing process for both existing and prospective clients.
- Sending RFPs and organizing carrier replies and follow ups.
- Entering the renewal options and benefit comparisons in a workbook, including plan design, rates and renewals, network details, & funding arrangements (fully insured, level-funded, self-funded).
- Identify discrepancies in carrier quotes and flag issues for consultants.
- Manage RFP timelines and ensure all required information is received by deadlines.
- Strategizing with the other team members, including the Account Managers & Account Executives, on appropriate solutions/recommendations.
- Maintain organized records of quotes, plan details, and historical renewals.
- Collaborate with our internal sub-departments, where appropriate.
- Other tasks as determined by the Small Group Manager.
Required Education and Experience
- A current Illinois Life, Accident & Health Insurance License, or be able to obtain within 90 days of employment.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in group insurance, preferably at a brokerage firm.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Familiarity with the employee benefits industry.
- Superior customer service skills, organization, multi-tasking while working independently, and strong data accuracy skills.
- Proficient in internet-based applications as well as MS Office Suite; specifically, Outlook Word, and PowerPoint. Above-average proficiency in Excel is required.
- Proficiency in Applied Epic is preferred.
