What Does a Mechanic Do?  

• Maintain work area; maintain all equipment in a clean, safe working condition 

• Follow all instructions and guidelines as outlined by direct supervisor 

• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and basic repairs as directed by direct supervisor 

• Make basic equipment repairs according to manufacturers’ specifications.  

• Maintain and complete all equipment records in a neat and orderly fashion.  

• Maintain tools and equipment in the safest manner possible, inspect equipment daily 

• Perform extensive repairs as directed by direct supervisor 

• Monitor, maintain, and update warehouse equipment parts inventory as needed 

• Train associates in warehouse equipment repair 

What Does It Take to Be a Mechanic?  

• High school diploma or equivalent  

• Results-oriented with the ability to serve stores with humility and be a steward of Nation’s Best’s values 

• Minimum experience required - 6 months warehouse maintenance and vehicle background 

• Basic understanding of electronics, hydraulics, brakes, welding, and general maintenance may be required  

• Must be able to operate a pallet jack, forklift and rolling truck stock 

• Physical demands include working outside in working conditions that vary depending on seasons - temperature variations and inclement weather are real aspects of the work environment 

• Must be able to spend long durations sitting, standing, and walking 

• Ability to frequently bend, reach, climb, and stoop as needed  

• Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move up to 100 pounds regularly 

• Ability to work overtime as needed
