On Monday, you’re at our Southfield base preparing a new automated cell for a customer—loading programs, calibrating I/O, and validating interlocks. Midweek, you’re on-site at a plant, troubleshooting an Allen‑Bradley routine and fine‑tuning motion to spec. By Friday, you’re walking operators and maintenance through best practices so the line runs flawlessly long after you leave.
Role snapshot- Location: Southfield, MI
- Pay rate: $40–$48 per hour (salary commensurate with experience)
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Travel: 65–75% (including occasional international trips)
- Preferred industry background: Automotive manufacturing or Aerospace manufacturing
- Commission, calibrate, and service new or modified equipment at customer facilities to meet specifications and performance targets.
- Assemble, debug, and adjust electronic and electro‑mechanical machine components during build and at customer and company sites.
- Diagnose and resolve controls hardware and software issues for reliable operation.
- Provide hands‑on training to customer representatives on system operation and maintenance.
- Associate’s degree in Electrical Technology or equivalent; BSEE/BSME preferred (not required).
- At least 5 years of related experience in an automotive or machine tool manufacturing environment (or equivalent education/experience mix).
- Advanced proficiency with Siemens and Allen‑Bradley PLC programming.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and electrical schematics.
- Hands‑on control panel building capability.
- MRP/ERP familiarity is a plus (SAP preferred).
- Strong communication, math, and computer skills.
Expect to travel 65–75% of the time to customer sites, with some international assignments.
