Electrical Engineering Lead - established industrial equipment manufacturer in the Upstate.
This is a hands-on engineering leadership role for someone who wants to remain technically involved while taking greater ownership of projects, product development, and the growth of a small electrical engineering team.
The Electrical Engineering Lead will manage several key projects, provide technical guidance to electrical engineering and design team members, review drawings and designs, and play an important role in ongoing product development and R&D initiatives. This person will also collaborate closely with an international engineering team to troubleshoot, modify, and improve equipment for the North American market.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and provide technical guidance to a small electrical engineering/design team
- Manage electrical engineering projects from development through implementation and commissioning
- Review electrical drawings, schematics, designs, and technical documentation
- Design, modify, and troubleshoot industrial electrical and electromechanical systems
- Support new product development, testing, and R&D initiatives
- Collaborate with international engineering teams on product modifications and technical challenges
- Serve as a technical escalation point for complex equipment and customer issues
- Provide occasional on-site support when advanced troubleshooting or commissioning is required
Qualifications
- 6–8 years of electrical or industrial engineering experience
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, controls, PLCs, drives, motors, sensors, and electrical schematics
- Experience leading projects and providing technical guidance to engineers or designers
- R&D, product development, automation, machinery, or industrial equipment experience preferred
- EPLAN experience is a plus; training can be provided
- Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively with engineers, technicians, customers, and other non-engineering stakeholders
