Principal Function: The Adventure Camp Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring daily camp operations run smoothly, safely, and in alignment with the Adventure Camp mission. This role is responsible for planning, preparing, organizing, and communicating essential information to camp staff each day. The coordinator works collaboratively with the camp leadership team to deliver a safe, engaging, and educational experience for all campers. They support counselors and campers, help resolve challenges, maintain high program standards, and ensure that each day's activities, logistics, and transitions run efficiently and with a focus on camper well-being and belonging.

- Summer Camp Coordinator, 40hrs/week, May 18-Aug 2, $14.50 /hr
- Standard hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
- Pre-season staff training: May 18-22, 2026
- Camp dates: May 26-August 4, 2026.
- Camp Clean-up day: Sunday, August 2, 2026
- Position requires attendance during staff training week and availability for at least nine of the ten weeks of camp.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Prioritize the safety, well-being, and inclusion of campers and staff at all times.
- Serve as a positive role model and mentor for campers and staff.
- Review, maintain, and uphold confidentiality of all camper files, including special needs documentation, in compliance with ADA requirements.
- Collaborate with Inclusion Specialists, Belonging Specialist, counselors, and other staff to provide individualized support and ensure all campers are included fully in activities.
- Actively participate in staff training week and ongoing professional development throughout the summer.
- Coordinate daily camp operations, including activity selection and scheduling, staffing assignments, logistics, and documentation.
- Manage camper behavior and implement disciplinary procedures in alignment with camp policies.
- Ensure all safety protocols and emergency procedures are followed across camp activities.
- Maintain and manage supply inventory, ordering materials as needed to support camp programs.
- Serve as a point of contact for parents/guardians, addressing inquiries, concerns, or special requests in a courteous and professional manner.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive camp environment.
- Promote a culture of empathy, inclusion, and respect across the camp community.
- Assist with special projects, program evaluations, and continuous improvement initiatives as directed by the Camp Director.
- Participate in pre-season staff training (May 18-22, 2026) and support end-of-season clean-up (August 2, 2026).
- Perform Camp Counselor duties as needed, including leading activities, supervising campers, and contributing to a safe and engaging program environment.
- Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma; completion of at least one semester of college is preferred.
- Previous experience at Conner Prairie Adventure Camp is required; two or more summers preferred.
- Strong understanding of behavior management techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to new situations and work independently.
- Demonstrated commitment to maintaining Conner Prairie's professional standards.
