Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Pediatric Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for supporting children's development through the use of research based pediatric occupational therapy treatment interventions. Our therapists provide individualized standardized assessments to develop plans of care that utilize evidence-based interventions, assisting each patient attain their outcomes.
Job Duties
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments tailored to pediatric populations, including those with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorders.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans focused on enhancing motor skills, sensory processing, self-care (ADLs), and functional independence.
- Assist children with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, feeding, and toileting to promote independence.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans and ensure continuity of patient care across settings.
- Support discharge planning by evaluating progress and providing recommendations for ongoing therapy or community resources.
- Document clinical findings accurately within electronic health records (EHR) while adhering to medical documentation standards.
- Provide education and training to families and caregivers to support children’s developmental needs.
Skills
- A strong desire to learn and support your patients and families.
- Experience working with children with disabilities, including those with autism spectrum disorders and neurodevelopmental challenges.
- Familiarity with implementing occupational therapy treatment plans.
- Skilled in medical terminology and clinical documentation practices aligned with healthcare standards.
- Ability to assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and support clients through discharge planning processes.
- Experience working with students with disabilities or special education needs.
- Competence in electronic health records (EHR) management for efficient documentation and communication.
- Strong client communication skills coupled with the ability to collaborate effectively within interprofessional teams.
- Knowledge of evidence-based practice principles applied to pediatric occupational therapy interventions.
