What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Mechanic position at Connections Personnel?
Connections Personnel is hiring for a temp to hire machine mechanic for our client located in Somerset, NJ. Looking for a candidate that has injection molding background or have worked with high-speed plastic machinery background to join the team. Willing to train a candidate that has entry level experience that is mechanically inclined.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and light electrical failures on the production floor to minimize equipment downtime. This includes servicing conveyors, actuators, pouch-assembly machines, and dispensing line hardware.
- Routine checkups, cleanings, and component replacements. Log all PM tasks meticulously to ensure the facility maintains regulatory standards.
- Fine-tune high-precision packaging tools, change out parts for different product runs (changeovers), and check for quality control alignment on the bottle and pouch conveyor lines.
- Utilize manual machine shop tools and basic welding skills to modify or repair metal and plastic components.
- Work in strict alignment with OSHA regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), as many of the dispensing containers they produce are supplied to the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and food industries.
Requirements:
- Preferred experience is 3 years but willing to train entry level candidate.
- Any experience in the plastic industry preferred.
- Must speak English.
- Drug screen, background check and E-Verify.
- Must be able to work 1st shift and be able to assist on 2nd shift if needed.
Schedule: 7am-3pm Monday thru Friday. Must be able to assist on 2nd shift if needed.
Salary: $22-$30/hr depending on experience and background.
