What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Mechanic position at Connections Personnel?
Connections Personnel located in Scotch Plains has a direct hire position for a skilled maintenance mechanic 1st shift. Would prefer a candidate that has 3 years of experience as a mechanic, food manufacturing preferred but not required.
Required Skills:
- Boiler Operation Experience.
- Strong problem-solving and multi-tasking abilities.
- Excellent communication, logical thinking and attention to detail.
- Ability to reach electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical schematics.
- Experience with replacing motors, belts, bearings, pulleys, sprockets, chains, cylinders, etc.
- Proficiency in plumbing, wiring, welding and drilling.
- Must have Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams)
Job Description:
- Follow safety protocols and ensure maintenance work adheres to safety standards.
- Perform preventative maintenance to ensure machinery operates efficiently.
- Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, review and participate in technical staff work.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and inspect production machinery.
- Read and comply with work orders for service, modification or installation of machinery.
- Improve equipment condition and operational efficiency.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following procedures and regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with team members.
- Manage procurement and inventory control of maintenance parts.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external service providers and suppliers.
Hours:
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday 7am to 4pm
(Tuesday and Sun off/ including 1hour unpaid meal break)
During probationary time training will be Monday thru Friday 8-5pm if possible.
Payrate: $25/hour
