As an MHT, you'll work directly with clients during a key part of their day-supporting evening routines, ensuring safety, and promoting stability during the recovery process.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and supervision to adult clients in a residential mental health setting
- Complete admissions documentation and client intakes in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Monitor clients through facility rounds and document per company protocol
- Conduct urine drug screens according to waived testing procedures
- Assist with medication administration (med pass) under clinical supervision
- Observe and report changes in client behavior or safety concerns
- Reinforce program rules and client agreements respectfully and consistently
- Support a safe and therapeutic environment by maintaining cleanliness and order
- Communicate effectively with the treatment team regarding client progress and needs
- Respond calmly and appropriately to emergencies or crisis situations
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- TB test and health screening required upon hire
- At least 1 year of prior experience in a residential treatment center, mental health facility, or substance use recovery program.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Basic computer literacy and ability to complete electronic charting
