Position Details

• Position: Special Education Teacher
• Grades: K-6
• Location: Kittery, Maine
• Schedule: Full-time, school-year position with an abbreviated summer program

Salary

• Master’s Degree (030 or 282 Certification): $65,000-$75,000
• Bachelor’s Degree (282 or 865 Certification): $58,000-$65,000

What You’ll Do

As our Special Education Teacher, you will lead our special purpose private school of approximately 8-10 students while working alongside clinicians, BCBA, Behavioral Health Professionals, and other team members to create a supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities include:

• Develop and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Plan and deliver engaging instruction aligned with student needs
• Differentiate curriculum using evidence-based teaching strategies
• Track student progress and maintain educational documentation
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
• Foster a positive, structured classroom where students can succeed academically and emotionally

Qualifications

• Maine Special Education Certification (030, 282, or 865) or eligibility for certification
• Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred)
• Passion for supporting children with diverse learning and behavioral needs
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Positive attitude and commitment to student success
