Position: Behavioral Specialist
Location: Kittery Academy & Kittery Kids Academy
Compensation: Up to $25/hr (Depending on Education & Experience)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, School Day Hours!
Description:
Kittery Academy & Kittery Kids' Academy is a private special education school that blends behavioral support services with education for students who have a mental health diagnosis that includes conduct disorders, anxiety and PTSD.
The Behavioral Specialist works within Kittery Academy / Kittery Kids Academy to provide behavioral support to children and youth who meet Day Treatment Services' level of care. They ensure continuity by working to implement and uphold behavior plans designed by the BCBA, ensuring consistency and effectiveness in behavioral strategies. Along with the leadership team, they provide guidance, behavioral management skills and assistance to BHP’s during student behavioral escalations, fostering a safe and supportive environment for both students and staff. The behavioral specialist provides direct care to clients by providing substitute coverage during staff absences. This is a variable part-time ( Mon- Fri school hours), school year position with time off for school vacation weeks and includes a 6 week summer program between July and August.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ed-Tech III / BHP (Behavioral Health Professional) Certification (Preferred)
- 4 year college degree required
- Experience with Crisis Intervention & Behavior Management
- Have a valid drivers license with proof of auto insurance
- Willingness to become a safety care trainer
