School Summary
Nevada Connections Academy (NCA) is a tuition-free, online public school that serves students in grades 9–12 throughout Nevada. The school launched in 2007 as a distance education charter school authorized by the Nevada State Board of Education, and is governed by an independent Board of Directors. The school is operated by Nevada Connections Academy, a nonprofit corporation, through a contract with Connections Academy of Nevada, LLC, to provide its educational program and other services. NCA is accredited by the Northwest Accreditation Commission, an accrediting division of AdvancED.
Position Summary and Responsibilities
Working from the school’s main office and your home office in Reno, Nevada, the Administrative Assistant is responsible for daily administrative tasks of the school such as answering phones and email, receiving visitors, shipping and receiving postage, assisting school staff with administrative tasks, and other school support duties as assigned.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Entering data into the online student information system;
- Generating reports;
- Answering the phones;
- Scheduling appointments;
- Speaking with parents and students;
- Supporting and assisting the Office Manager, School Leadership, and Administrative Staff
- Processing and managing secure student records according to FERPA guidelines;
- Assisting with various personnel duties;
- Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must report to the office in Reno, Nevada
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, Google Suite, and web-based applications is essential
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

Note: The anticipated starting salary for Nevada-based individuals expressing interest in this position ranges from $15.50 to $17.50 per hour with a 100% employer-funded pension, or $18.00 to $22.00 per hour with 50/50 employer/employee pension contribution.
