Duties
- Supervise children during daily activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Implement age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development
- Follow established classroom routines and behavior management strategies to maintain a positive environment
- Communicate effectively with parents about their child's day, progress, and any concerns
- Assist with basic childcare needs such as diapering, feeding, and nap times
- Support classroom teachers by preparing materials and helping with lesson implementation
- Adhere to all health and safety protocols, including mandated reporting laws and emergency procedures
Skills
- Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or similar settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Certification in first aid, CPR, including pediatric first aid is required or obtainable upon hire
- Ability to manage classroom behavior with patience and positive reinforcement techniques
- Strong communication skills for effective parent interaction and team collaboration
- Familiarity with special education needs and experience working with children with disabilities is a plus
- Demonstrated caregiving skills such as infant care, toddler care, and general child supervision
