Job Summary
The Chief Business and Human Resources Officer (CBHRO) is a senior leadership role responsible for the overall financial and operational management of the charter school. The CBHRO ensures that the school’s business operations support high-quality education and meet all regulatory, fiscal, and compliance requirements in accordance with California charter school laws. This position is key in strategic planning, budgeting, compliance, facilities, human resources, and vendor management.
Requirements / Qualifications
1. Resume 2. Letter of Introduction 3. Three (3) Current Letters of Recommendation/References 4. Copies of Transcripts, Credentials, and Degrees Education and/or Experience: - Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). - Minimum of 5 years of financial or operational leadership experience, preferably in a K-12 charter school or public education setting. - Experience with California education finance, charter school operations, and compliance requirements. - CBO certification preferred Skills and Competencies: -Deep knowledge of charter school finance, Ed Code, and California school business practices. -Preparation, maintenance, verification, and processing of financial records. -Proficient in financial software (e.g., SACS, Escape, or other charter school finance platforms). -Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. -Effective communicator with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear presentations. -Ability to work collaboratively in a mission-driven, student-focused environment. -Meet schedules and timelines while working independently and with little direction. -Plan, manage, and direct the work of support staff. -Disseminate information throughout the charter school for effective financial decision-making. -Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. -Direct, supervise, and evaluate the activities of others engaged in various fiscal and business activities.
