Primary Position Objectives
Required to operate hand truck and/or forklift truck in the movement of materials, supplies, and finished goods to designated places in the facility or onto trucks.
Position Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Description of Duties
- Performs various material handling duties within the facility.
- Transport materials to and from production areas, including loading/unloading onto skids, pallets, hand trucks or forklifts.
- May be required to clean up and dispose of scrap, cardboard boxes etc. and places in proper containers or designated areas.
- Create and receive PO’s into Global Shop and notify proper people of shipment.
- Move incoming and outgoing products to designated areas to maintain workflow.
- Stack and organize skids or pallets in designated areas.
- Required to move incoming and outgoing products as required.
- Provide backup support to material handling operations at other locations as needed.
Other
- Maintains adherence to company policies, environmental and safety standards, and good housekeeping standards.
- Observes company processes and makes recommendations for improvement
- May be required to assist or otherwise instruct other personnel.
- Perform other duties as may be required.
- Attendance is an essential function of the job.
Qualifications
Education/Experience
- Forklift operation skills.
- High School graduate or demonstration of equivalent skills
- Basic math skills.
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to understand and follow directions
Physical Requirements
- Visual Sharpness (corrected) to operate machines (including visual inspection procedures).
- Manual dexterity. Substantial movements (motions) of the arms, wrists, hand and/or fingers.
- Ability to lift objects up to 35 lbs. unassisted from lower to a higher position or moving horizontally position to position
