Job Description:
Position will work in conjunction with, and by the direction of, the Practice Administrator to provide nursing and medical assistant support for practice locations by consulting and advising clinicians on best-practices, implementation of/providing education and training programs, and collaborating on interdisciplinary projects. Provides oversight of nursing leadership and staff. Supports and adheres to COG'S Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure clinical operations and practice consistent with organizational objectives.
- Collaborates with functional areas to provide support on operational projects such as oncology practice initiative site assessments, and other special projects as assigned.
- Infusion Nurse, mixing chemotherapy, and ordering drugs.
- Facilitates the implementation and/or utilization of outcomes data and evidence-based practices.
- Facilitates implementation of standardized best practices within the organization.
- Ensures practice standards of care are consistent with community standards of care.
- Ensures the incorporation of clinical evidence into existing and newly developed standards.
- Staff Development
- Assess staffing levels and issues, patient flow, current practices in the clinical setting.
- Assists with the development of company-wide clinical competency testing and skills validation programs.
- Ensure adequate staffing/FTEs for assigned clinics or region.
- Maintains effective nursing staff coverage and operating costs for the practice and/or satellites within budgetary parameters.
- Demonstrates working knowledge of applicable labor laws and schedules and coordinates employee staffing including vacations, sick leave, and overtime.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN or MSN preferred RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
- Current CPR certification required.
- Business Experience: Minimum five years actively practicing as a registered nurse, including at least three years oncology experience. Minimum three years of leadership experience Specialized.
- Knowledge/Skills: Oncology certification required.
