In this role, you will support dentists during patient procedures, manage clinical and administrative tasks, and ensure a smooth, efficient patient experience. Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and oral surgery.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all supplies are ready for procedures.
- Take digital dental X-rays and 3D scans while adhering to radiation safety protocols and infection prevention standards.
- Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems as we transition from Eaglesoft to Curve, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide chairside assistance by handling dental instruments efficiently, maintaining aseptic technique, and supporting four-handed dentistry practices.
- Assist with patient care before, during, and after treatments to promote comfort and safety.
- Educate patients on oral health care instructions and post-treatment care while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or graduate of a Dental Assisting Program.
- Proficiency in dental software / patient management software.
- Strong understanding of infection control protocols, sterilization procedures, and healthcare infection prevention standards.
- Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, intraoral cameras (3D scanners), and medical imaging tools safely.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages while demonstrating professionalism and empathy.
- Certification in CPR or basic life support (BLS) is preferred or we will provide
- Fluency in Spanish is preferred
