What are the responsibilities and job description for the Packaging Manager position at Connecticut Contract Manufacturing?
Job Title: Packaging Manager
Purpose: To oversee the packaging and labeling of all cannabis SKUs produced at CT Contract Manufacturing including, but not limited to edibles and vaporizer cannabis products.
Job Responsibilities:
- To organize, schedule, and coordinate all packaging and labeling production for bulk cannabis products produced into consumer packaged goods.
- To ensure all packaging and labeling procedures are completed timely, consistently, and in compliance with State Regulations.
- To ensure all production data is recorded and tracked in accordance with CT Contract Manufacturing’s SOPs.
- The Packaging & Labeling Procedures SOP and PPT is kept up to date.
- To organize and coordinate all batch label printing, ensuring that:
- The correct labels which have been “brand approved” are sourced and printed;
- The correct quantity of labels have been printed, reducing potential for excess waste; and
- The QR code has been tested and is in proper working order.
- To ensure employees are held accountable for daily standards and overall productivity.
- To delegate, monitor and oversee additional QC checks, including but not limited to:
- Unit count precision;
- Quality control;
- Net weight accuracy; and
- Labeling accuracy.
- Finished Case Pack QC Checks
- To oversee all applicable employee training logs, ensuring that all employees are properly documenting and undergoing all required training.
- To oversee the Packaging Team’s schedule as well as ensuring all applicable employees are showing up on time, clocking in and out consistently, and taking breaks appropriately.
- To work closely with Kitchen and Operations Management to ensure process flow is being followed as well as current production batches being produced are identified and tracked until transferred to the Vault as sellable product(s).
- To assist the Strategic Operations Manager with brand registration photos.
- Ensuring correct label is printed
- Photos are clear and all lettering is legible
- Photos are sent to SOM in a timely manner
Job Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2-3 years of experience within a production environment, preferably with supervisor and/or management experience.
- Ability to lead a team with a positive attitude, as well as determined to help employees develop.
- Ability to navigate and work with Microsoft Word & Excel.
Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
